Traditional room, minimal noise, short walk to famous bridge, easy access to top shrines, spacious and well-equipped room.

    Nothing to dislike.

This Ryokan was a good pic for us for Nikko. It's located close to the beginning of the national park and all the attractions and shrines. 10 m to the old wooden bridge. Hotel has a nice collective bathroom optional the the one on your room. Bathroom is clean and ok but nothing too special. Breakfast was straight forward but good and enough. I think there is just "normal" breakfast possible, no traditional japanese breakfast was offered to us. It was one of the more expensive hotels of our trip (roughly twice as much per night as for the business hotels in the big cities, but it is a ryokan as well), but worth it. It was some mix between a practical hotel solution and a onsen ryokan, but no natural onsen available and not so strict as the more traditional ryokan (no tight schedule for breakfast, room-maid does not prepare or de- prepare the bed, etc... Some kind of modern ryokan maybe?

The hotel is really close to Nikko's main attractions. I also like a cozy feeling of the hotel itself. The staffs are very polite and helpful. The price is also very reasonable: a great choice for someone who does not need a full dinner set.

This hotel is ideally located right in the centre of all the action. It is just a stone throw away from world heritage shrines and temples, making it incredibly convenient for sightseeing. Additionally, the hotel is right at a bus stop, making it easy to explore the surrounding area. The traditional Japanese style rooms are a unique and authentic experience, with comfortable futons and private bathrooms. The staff are courteous and attentive, making sure that guests have everything they need for a pleasant stay. The basic amenities provided in the room, including free WiFi, ensure a comfortable and convenient stay. Moreover, the attention to detail in terms of cleanliness is evident, ensuring that the rooms and public areas are kept clean and tidy.

All was ok, with no major complaints or issues.

This hotel is quite inexpensive, but it doesn't fall into the budget category for me, because it is very comfortable. It is located very close to Nikko's temples and shrines. On a rainy day it's perfect to go for a walk along the river, or into the forest, and when tired come back to the hotel for a cup of green tea or a dip in the bath. I love this hotel, and will be returning.

The Japanese seem to be very strict about check-in times (eg. At 2.15 I was told to come back at 3). It is not specific to this hotel.

The location of this hotel was excellent!! It was a 1 minute walk to the Shinkyo bridge, 5 minute walk to the first of the temples in the town, and right across the street from the Kanaya Hotel, and right in the town. The onsen was small, with no outdoor onsen, but nice. Our room was nice and big, plus it had a toilet attached. Staff was perfectly friendly, and we got umbrellas from the hotel to use as it was pouring almost the whole time we were there. Overall we had a really pleasant stay here. i especially loved that I could not hear anybody else in the hotel!! It was very quiet!

Only issue we had was the breakfast really was continental, and that our room was right on the street, so we could hear the traffic going past. One great thing was that they had full on doors to cover the windows during the night which was Lovely, as usually in a ryokan I get woken up by the sun. So we could sleep in a bit. It is not a spa hotel by the lake, or in the mountains- but is is relaxing and in the middle of everything that Nikko has to offer, so perfect for travelers. In regards to dinners, most of the town is shut by 6, so there are only a handful of places open for food after that, just as a warning, most a 10 minute walk downhill towards the station. The hotel was lovely about telling us where to head.

I had a very pleasant stay at Nikko Tokinoyuu. The hotel was clean and the traditional-style room had everything I needed. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially the young man who showed me where the towels were and set up my bed rolls. The location was perfect, just a short walk to the Toshogu Shrine and other major shrines. The public hot spring bath was a great way to relax after a long day of exploring. The free breakfast in the small lobby was a nice bonus. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We liked the location, it's very close to the temples and shrines and to some other attractions in the nature. There is a bus stop in front of it which leads to the main train station. The bath downstairs was great, that was the best part of the hotel (or maybe because it was so cold in January in Nikko so we appreciated the hot tub after coming back to the hotel so much ;-)

We didn't like that the small bathroom in our room is so cold (freezing!) so going every time to the toilet or to wash hand were not the most pleasant experiences ;-) Brekfast consisted of coffee/tea and white bread with butter (only!) so I think it would be fair not to write that "breakfast is included" since, being so poor, it might dissapoint many...

Location. Very short walk to famous Shinkyo Bridge, cross road and easy access to the 3 top shrines of Nikko. The tatami floor room was beautiful, spacious and well equipped. There is a public bath in the basement and after a day of temple stair climbing the bath was very relaxing. The gentleman at the front desk spoke excellent English. No problem storing our things before and after checking in/out. The woman in kimono was also very pleasant. There was even a small continental breakfast in the morning. Also, easy access from Tobu train station. Bus stops right in front and across the street.

Be aware that most eating places nearby seem to shut down by 5:00 pm. Ate at Hipparidako across from the hotel. Casual with messages from customers tacked all over the walls and ceiling. Food was hot and tasty. I think they closed at 7:00 pm.

This hotel is perfectly located for those wanting to explore the beautiful shrines of the area. You can easily walk down to the train station, or stay right in the heart of the action next to the temples. The staff are friendly, the rooms clean, and the traditional Japanese style adds a unique touch to your stay. Be sure to spend some time soaking in the hot springs, which were a highlight of our trip.

The breakfast provided was rather lacking compared to other ryokan experiences we've had.

I recently stayed at a hotel in Nikko and had a most enjoyable experience. the staff were exceptional, going above and beyond what I expected. They were kind, helpful, and nothing was too much trouble. Secondly, the breakfast offered at the hotel was a pleasant surprise. Lastly, the location of the hotel was perfect. It was right at a bus stop, making it convenient to explore the area, and it was also in front of the beautiful Nikko national park. I would highly recommend this hotel for its value for money, attention to detail, and great location.

Nothing to complain about – everything was just fine.

Location, Location, Location! This hotel is in the perfect location for visiting the city. It is close to all the main sights and attractions of the city, which makes it very easy to get around and explore. The hotel staff was also very helpful and friendly, always willing to provide recommendations and offer assistance. The buffet breakfast offered a good selection of both Western-style and Japanese-style foods, and the coffee and tea were delicious.

The room we stayed in was quite small and cramped. There was barely enough room to move around and store our luggage.

Great location, very close to the main tourist attractions and many restaurants. The staff was friendly and helpful, willing to provide suggestions and assistance. The room was spacious and comfortable, with pleasant views of the surroundings.

The facilities were outdated and in need of renovation. The bathroom was particularly old and worn out, with leaking fixtures and mildew.

I loved staying at this hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and welcoming throughout my stay. Additionally, the location was perfect as it was right next to the main tourist sights and in front of Bus Stop No. The hotel facilities were great, including a nightly bath and an onsen. The breakfast was better than expected with a good variety of self-serve items including salad, bread, soup, juice, and coffee.

Hard to think of anything negative to say about this hotel.

This hotel has great value for money, with affordable prices and attention to detail. It is ideally located right in the centre of all the action, with a bus stop right in front of Nikko national park. The rooms are tastefully decorated with tatami mats and have very comfortable futon beds.

All aspects of our stay were more than satisfactory.
